Management Server Agent Update Attempting Internet Access.
I'm running the Acronis Management Server on Windows 2016. I've recently upgraded to v12.5.13400. The windows agents were all manually upgraded. I don't have the capability to do so for the Linux agents and would like to push the update out from the Management Server. The Linux agents are currently running v12.5.10300.
When I select a Linux Agent>Update Agent>Installer for Linux(64 bit), Acronis attempts to go out to http://downloads.acronis.com. This system is behind a firewall that has no access to the internet. I've turned off the System Setting for Automatically Check for Updates. I've also copied the Linux installation to C:\program files\acronis\RemoteInstallationFiles\13400. What do I need to do to get Acronis to stop trying to download the upgrade from the internet?
If I can't stop this behavior, my Linux administrator said they could perform the upgrade using Satellite if Acronis provided the actual RPM file or had a repository that Satellite could download the upgrade from directly. The Satellite server does have internet access. Does Acronis have either of these?

Hello Cathy,
thanks for posting on Acronis forums!
I don't have the capability to do so for the Linux agents and would like to push the update out from the Management Server.
As Robert has already replied, installation/update in Linux is recommended in a Linux-only environment. You will need to install an agent locally on the machines that you want to back up.
I've also copied the Linux installation to C:\program files\acronis\RemoteInstallationFiles\13400
Could you please copy and share here a list of files in this folder so that we would advise which of them should be run as Agent for Linux installation on Linux machines? Since the new build which could be downloaded is 14240, you could either install Agent for Linux from this folder or download a new build and update AMS and Agent for Windows as well.

Thank you for the information. No need to identify the files. I downloaded the X86_64 install file for LINUX for 13400 from the website last week. That's what I copied to my windows server hoping it would be able to push out the update. I'll just remove it from the windows server since it's useless there.
I appreciate your assistance. I've been through the Acronis manual several times and never picked up that the management server can only update agents running on the same OS. Especially since it kept acting like it was trying to do so for any OS.
Without the ability to push updates from the management server and without Satellite installation capability, LINUX agent maintenance is going to be much more time consuming than anyone had planned. At least we know now not to spend any more time trying to get either of the anticipated automated methods to work.

Hello Cathy.
In this case, I recommend that you take advantage of the unattended installation of Linux Agents as described in the respective KB article (please scroll down to Linux part): https://kb.acronis.com/content/59780

Thank you for the information. I was familiar with that article. I didn't see any real benefit in the 'unattended' installation. If I'm already opening a terminal session on every Linux agent, manually copying the installation file over then again manually issuing the command for this 'unattended' installation, where's the savings? I guess the 3 seconds it takes to go through the installation prompts. Though now I've also lost the ability to see the progress of the installation and error messages that may pop up during the process.

Hello Cathy.
Our developers work on implementing the remote installation of Agents for Linux from Windows AMS. I have added your voice to this feature request (ABR-59106).
