strange credentials issue but backup reports succeeded?

Thread needs solution

About once a week I get the following email notification from random backups:

---------------------

Activity succeeded with warnings

PBX

Activity 'Preparing for backup of virtual machine' succeeded with the following warning: 'The credentials for location '//diskstation/backup/' are not specified.'

---------------------

The full logs say:

In this case Acronis is running a backup plan that also has 2 additional VMs. The destination is the same for all VMs in the plan.

Why do the others report okay?

How is it possible for a backup to succeed if the system doesn’t know the access credentials?

//diskstation/backup/ is not even the correct destination – it should be //diskstation/backup/local ??

Hi,

The backup plans of VMs can be run by different Acronis agents (if VM migrates for example) and the warning may be thrown from one specific agent, while not affecting the others - this may explain why you don't see the warning every time. The proper analysis can be done by checking the full log (not only the warning message), in order to understand the context where this warning thrown from. I can guess that revoking and re-applying the backup plan would fix the problem, but if this doesn't help then the issue has to be investigated with our support team involved.

Thank you.
