Warning Backing up Appliance

I get the following error when trying to backup the Acronis Appliance on ESXi.  The system does create the snapshot and all looks fine and removes the snapshot successfully.  Do I need to worry about this warning?

Hi Jonathan,

Can you please clarify how exactly you're selecting the appliance to backup? Note that "Agent for VMware (Virtual Appliance)" is not supposed to be backed up and it's excluded from the list of devices on purpose as it does not store actual data (all configuration data is on management server side).

It's quite hard to analyze the error above without knowing the context, e.g. at which stage of backup it appears. In essence it says that the snapshot tree for particular VM (VM with "vm-2495" ID in vSphere infrastructure) cannot be retrieved from the ESXi host due to connection failure. Can you post the full backup operation log (it will also show the type of backup you try to create)?

Thank you.

To clarify my previous comment - there are 2 types of appliances in Acronis Backup:

- "All-in-one appliance" which is a form of initial installation, where management server and backup agent are running inside a CentOS-based VM

- "Agent for VMware (Virtual Appliance)" which is a component also running as a VM on an ESXi host, dedicated for protecting vSphere infrastructure. It can be deployed from the management server (and from management server running inside "All-in-one appliance" for example when you need additional agents and the agent running inside "All-in-one appliance" alone is not enough to handle all the backup traffic.

So to advise properly I need to understand which appliance you're using.
