ABR 10 Advanced Workstation is slow in Indexing
Hi there,
I have following setup (clean install):
W2K8 R2 Standart Server with Intel Q9550s, 8 GB 1066 DDR2 Ram, 12 TB Raid5 Array for Acronis Backups, Teamed 4x 1Gbit Marvell LAN NICs (ASUS P5Q Premium)
ABR 10 11345 central components incl. licence server and console are installed.
I use deduplication and universal restore.
and a child-father-grandfather scenario.
I want to backup around 5 Win7 64bit computers in school for testing, later if this system works well around 120-150.
Then later, if all is sufficent, we want to extend to other 26 schools in town and to backup servers centralized too.
First backup of first Win7 client went fast. Around 5 Minutes for 10 GB.
Then indexing task of archive started.
Now 30 hours are gone and indexing task is at 85%!
Maybe it is the first indexing, but disk usage is very low but frequent at around 800kb/s-1500kb/s , cpu usage is below 5%.
So IMHO indexing needs some improvements, it's idleing around, even if server isn't used for anything else.
Any suggestions to decrease indexing time?!

Hello Christian
Was wondering how this worked out for you. did you manage to deplay acronis on so many machines with deduplication ?
I am seeing the same problem. where the first indexing after adding a machine to the backup takes incredibly long time. (days) while the machine seams almost idle... Problem is that one can not realisticaly postpone backup for days, for the indexing to finish.
