ABR10 Recovery fails "Not enough memory to complete"

Thread needs solution

I am running ABR10 build 13762

I did a backup of two computers successfully to a share on a server.

Computer1 (Jeff's) has a 1tb drive with only about 80 gb worth of files..

Computer2 (John's) has 1tb drive with only about 40 or 50 gb of files.

When I went to do a restore ... John's appeared to restore to a drive with no errors.

However Jeff's computer repeatably fails about 70% through with "Not enough memory to complete the operation.

== Details of the restore environment

I was using a third computer to do the restore booting from a 13762 restore cd.

The local computer has 4 gig ram .. (same computer for both restore tests)

The drive used for the restore was a 1tb drive .. (same drive in both test cases)

The server share was the same directory for both restores ... just different archives.

Given the test environment is THE SAME .. my guess is that Acronis cannot handle the number of files in Jeff's archive.

Adding this comment just so I can chekck the "Notify me when new comments are added" .. since I did not see that option on the initial post.

Well ... I guess this is a 'black hole".

I have probably spent well over 100 hours ... (yep .. unbelievable) .. over 100 hours of time on with senior supprt from Acronis over the past year or so.

Problems too numerous to mention .... but thought I had the system "sorta" working ... I would have to reinstall clients ... tasks hang... etc etc.

But after MANY MANY updates and patches from them ... it got working to the point to where I would "limp" along with these anoyances since I invested so much time and money (100 licenses).

I did do 15 or 20 workstation restores ... (smaller boxes .. meaning 30 or 40 gig size disks) .. all seemed fine.

THEN .... I went to use the restore of an 80 gig drive onto a new 1tb drive .. only to find out the system runs out of memory.

Sent a email to the support person ... NO RESPONSE.

Posted a message here (look at 1st msge) ... NO RESPONSE.

In my opinion .. this software doesn't work.

BEWARE.
