ABR11 memory management w/ Server 2008R2
My management server seems to have issues with resource management. I can run it for about a week before it becomes so bogged down it either stops functioning, or I just get frustrated and reboot.
Currently it has been running for two days and is now "using" 2.6 gb RAM and is beginning to get sluggish.
Something in the Management server does not want to release memory resources once they have been taken....
I am using a Virtual Server2008R2 so my resources are pretty much unlimited and dynamic.
CPU usage is nothing notable. Network usage barely even registers a tickmark every now and then.
I am only actively backing up about 25 machines currently but have almost 200 in my network. I have created a policy where I do an incremental every 3 days and a full every 120 days, so the actual backup time is minimal.
The backups are working as I get the emails constantly.
I have also noticed that ABR11 does not classify a job as a "success" the same as ABR10 did. Previosly I had the server email notifications on failures only and would get a couple emails a week. Now, if any single portion of the job "fails", even though the ultimate outcome is a successful backup, I get emailed. I am getting several hundred emails a week....
