(Acronis Backup & Recovery 10) Recovery issue from an external HDD

Thread needs solution

This is what we did:
1) used Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 backup server to back up a live Linux server via the network.
2) Because we can't recover the image to another box via the network, so we copied the images to an External HDD.
3) We used the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 backup server to generate a bootable CD
4) we can use the bootable CD to startup another server and see the backup archive in the external HDD

The issue is:
Doesn't matter we choose restore the whole disk or restore volumes, after clicking start, it stays at 0% and never progress.

What we tried:
- To make sure it is not that particular external HDD, we have tried a different external HDD, the same issue.
- we can back up to the external HDD, but when tried to recover this image, the same issue, stays at 0%

Not sure if anyone experienced the same issue here. Appreciate any comments and thoughts.

cheers,

Hello vincent l,

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Forum.

Most likely the issue is caused by older Linux components of the bootable media in Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. Since Acronis True Image 2012 Home works for you, most likely Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 will work too.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
