Acronis Managed Machine Service and the Acronis Agent User password.
Hi Acronis Forum,
I'm dealing with the Microsoft VSS requirement that the Acronis Managed Machine Service's "Acronis Agent User" needs to be a member of the Administrators group (as well as the Backup Operators). Additionally, if I've interpreted the KBs correctly, the backup plan's "Plan's credentials" user also needs to be a member of the Administrators group.
Questions:
1) Can I change the "Acronis Agent User" password with no issues whatsoever (ie. use a very strong password)?
2) Can the "Acronis Agent User" be used for the backup plan's "Plan's credentials" user with no issues whatsoever?
3) Is the backup plan's "Plan's credentials" user's password stored in a manner that would not be as securely stored as a Windows user's password?
4) I realize that the "Acronis Agent User" is a Windows user and Windows password requirements and functionality are effect, but does Acronis store the "Acronis Agent User" password anywhere external to the Windows password mechanisms?
Btw, I'm only concerned with non-LanMan OSs like Vista and Win7. I believe you can see why I'm asking these questions.
I look forward to your reply, comments and suggestions.

Thanks dev-anon. I appreciate the feedback.
Anyone have an idea about #3 ?
3) Is the backup plan's "Plan's credentials" user's password stored in a manner that would not be as securely stored as a Windows user's password?
I now see that in Win7, the Plans are stored in C:\Users\All Users\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\Policies. They're XML files. Only thing I can read in there is the Plan name. I just need to verify that the "Plan's credentials" user's password is stored in there and that it cannot be deciphered.
Thanks again . . .
