Acronis True Image proportional resize

Thread needs solution

Hello all. I am terribly sorry that I post in this forum, but my guess was that most of the users here have used previous versions of Acronis in the past. If a moderator thinks I should post elsewhere please let me know.

We use True Image Echo Enterprise server (latest build). We have two issues during restore:

1. The procedure hangs for a long time (>10min) after NT signature screen (ie. before showing the destination disk selection screen).

2. We cannot specify the size of the restored partitions (we backup mainly Linux servers). Acronis seems to proportionall resize all partitions if restoring to a larger disk. For example, after restore a 500gb disk to a 2tb disk, /boot partition's size is equal to 1.5gb! There is no screen allowing me to specify partition size during restore process.

Thanks

Hello aris fesarlis,

Thank you for using our forum and welcome. I am happy to assist you.

If your restore hangs, you can try to use a BartPE bootable media. There you can use the Windows 32-bit drivers to have access to your mass storage device. See this articles from our knowledge base:

Under normal circumstances, it should be possible to resize when restoring volumes instead disks. There you can change the size of each partition in the wizard. You have to restore each volume in a single operation.

If there is anything else, we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
