Backup Problem

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Home edition. I am running XP. I have 16G used, 58 GB free. I have done backups, but never verified. I did a verify on the latest backup and got the following error message.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>

Image corrupted (0x70020)
Tag = 0x82DB9339B70C3AFC</indent>" module="1" time="1253228833" />

I am an 81 year old female, have had a computer since the mid 80's, but new technology is difficult for me to keep up with. I thought I could rely on Acronis support, but that no longer seems to be available, so I am hoping for some help from you folks. I bought the program in 11/2006, so it is three years old. I am new to this forum, and if I can be notified when there is an answer, that will suffice, but otherwise I would so appreciate a comprehensive answer via email:
which is: rlihly@earthlink.net

Thank you for any help you can give me. The only other option I have is to assume the program was corrupted on download, and I might have to buy a new one and start over. I have an 80 GB Seagate external hard drive.

Hello Rita,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]

It looks like the backup archive is corrupted.

First of all, please make sure that you are using the latest build of Acronis True Image Home (#4942). You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About" (the previous builds were #4871 and #4940).

If the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.

1. Completely uninstall Acronis software (Start->Settings->Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs. Select Acronis software and hit "Remove").

2. Reboot the computer.

3. Install the latest build of Acronis True Image 10.0 Home from the scratch, recreate backup archive, verify it and see if the issue remains.

Please keep us informed.

Thank you.
