Backup size is 747.5M but items to recover shows 226.1G?

So I have an incremental backup that I want to restore. The items to recover shows 226.1G. I went a head to restore and I stopped it after it showed 13.9G. How is this possible? Plus that 747.5M took only minutes to backup, why would that same backup take over 8 hours to recover. This is not making sence to me at all. Why do restores take much longer than the backups do.

I also restored to the same server 186G and it took over 20 hours to recover, but that backup took only a couple of hours. Why?

I am on the latest build of 12708.
