Using the Virtual Edition (build 10.0.13545) to backup my Hyper-V virtual machines.

During backup I select to convert to VM and save the backup as files rather than placing them on a virtualization server. When doing so I can not select Hyper-V as the format and was told to use Microsoft Virtual PC.

When doing so the backup job finishes at about 50% with a warning.

Code: 6 553 600(0x640000)
Module: 100
Message: Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Universal Restore skipped because the operating system that is being processed (Windows Server 2008 R2) is not supported by the target platform.

VHD and WMC files are placed in the archieve, but are they usable? Is R2 not supported in version 10?

2008 R2 is not supported by Virtual PC because it doesn't support 64-bit guests. So the VHD disk image was left unchanged and was not 'patched' by UR to insert drivers required for booting as a guest within Virtual PC.
