Backup of VMs running on Vmware Server 2.0

I have a Vmware Server 2.0 server running on a Windows 2008 R2 Standard server 64 bit. On this I run 4 guest servers/ VMs. These are running NT4, W2003 and W2008 R2. How can I run a full daily backup of these VMs?
For all other servers we use Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 and it would be nice to use this also for the VMs.

In the Vmware server 1.0 you could run a .bat file to stop the VMs during backup of the flat files. On version 2.0 this is a lot more difficult. At least for me as I'm not very good at scripting.

Do Acronis support backup of VMs running on Vmware server 2.0? If so, what do I need?
If not, do anyone have an idea on how we can backup the VMs?
