Cannot validate or create backups to DVD-burner with boot media (build 10.0.11345)

Thread needs solution

We have a problem when creating backups with the boot media from Backup and Recovery 10. (build 10.0.11345) to an USB DVD-burner.

With the linux boot-media we can create backup's to the DVD-burner but when the backup has to be validated the tasks keeps asking about inserting the last multi-volume backup and selecting the retry button doesn't help(we created the backup on 1 CD; not multi-volume). When we then select the Cancel optie behind the Retry button the program suddenly starts to validate the backup (?!). At the end it determines the validation has failed!. Now we would like to see why its failed so we go to the option to browse the log, but this just opens the screen to the logging and shows the loading icon after which the entire program hangs and the only thing we can do is reboot the entire system. The same happens when we try the ISOLUNIX boot media from the download section of Acronis. (screen shots attached)

With the Windows boot-media (based on WinPE) we cannot backup the system at all to the DVD-burner because it isn't shown as a drive in under "Local Folders". If we however check the recovery option and have to locate the place of the archive to recover, it does show the DVD-burner under "Local Folder" !?. So it seems it doesn't recognize the DVD-burner as a writable media.

This leaves us with a program that is not able to create proper backups onto a DVD-media. Which is what we do need for day-to-day work. (The fact that we create backups with the boot-media has to do with security issues of creating backup's on a running system)

Hello Robert,
Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
Please do the following to resolve the issue with the standalone version of Acronis product.
Please boot the system under ISOLINUX Bootable media and select the second boot parameter. Wait until /# appears and type /bin/product. After that please wait a minute to let the program to detect and recognize the USB DVD-ROM properly and try to validate the archive. If the verification still fails, please copy the archive onto a separate folder on your internal hard drive and validate it. Probably, the issue is caused by archive corruption. Let us know the results.
