Can't detect IBM ServeRaid M5110 Server Raid 1 Hard Disk in restore.

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I am using the Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 with UR to create a boot disk
to restore a backup to a IBM x3500 M4 server which have using the IBM build in onboard
ServeRaid M5110 Raid controller which connected with 2 SATA 2 TB hard disks in RAID 1.
I have created the 2 Virtual Disks, but I find that it can't detected the hard disk after
bootup using the boot disk. I using the most latest version to create the book disk.

Is this version of Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 support the RAID 1 of IBM ServeRaid M5110 ?
Should I need to upgrade to version 2013 ?

Please advise.

Hello Derek Yim,

Thank you for posting this issue in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

If the Linux based bootable media does not detect the RAID controller, you can change to the Windows based bootable media (WinPE). Find all necessary information in this article from our knowledge base. You can use only 32-bit drivers to add to the WinPE media.

If you need additional assistance, please create a system report of the affected machine and contact support. You will find all available support options in our Customer handbook.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi, I create a WinPE boot disk, but still can't detect the RAID hard disk,
should I add the Raid controller driver to the boot disk ?
What should I do ?

Please advise.

Thanks

Hello Derek Yim,

Thank you for the reply.

Yes of course, you have to add the RAID drivers to the WinPE bootable media in order to use your RAID system with the booted environment. My both suggested knowledge base articles should explain how to add the drivers.

If you need additional assistance, please create a system report of the affected machine and contact support. You will find all available support options in our Customer handbook.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.

Hi,
I don't known is it a hardware problem or software problem,

Hello Derek Yim,

Thank you for your reply.

Are you talking about Acronis Backup & Recovery or Acronis True Image Home?

As you posted in the Acronis Backup & Recovery forum part, I thought you reported an issue regarding this product. The latest version is Acronis Backup & Recovery 11.5.

However, using the WinPE bootable media solves the problem to detect your used RAID system.

If you need additional assistance, please create a system report of the affected machine and contact support. You will find all available support options in our Customer handbook.

If there is anything else we can do for you, please let me know.

Thank you.
