Clone of identical sized disks

Thread needs solution

I've been able to clone between two 80GB drives in both directions. One of the drives is a conventional HDD, the other an SSD.

I'm now trying to clone between two 160GB drives. From an HDD to an SSD. When selecting the source and dest drives they both appear as the same size (Clone reports something like 149.1GB). I select "Manual" and allow the partitions on the destination to be deleted, and weather I select "As is" or "Proportional" the next screen tells me I don't have enough room on the destination disk.

I performed a full format and a chkdsk /r on the destination drive. There are NO bad sectors. Here are the results of a chkdsk:

C:\Users\Frank>chkdsk i: /x
The type of the file system is NTFS.
Volume dismounted.  All opened handles to this volume are now invalid.
Volume label is New Volume.

CHKDSK is verifying security descriptors (stage 3 of 3)...

Windows has checked the file system and found no problems.

 156288320 KB total disk space.
        20 KB in 2 files.
         4 KB in 9 indexes.
         0 KB in bad sectors.
70756 KB in use by the system.
65536 KB occupied by the log file.
 156217540 KB available on disk.

4096 bytes in each allocation unit.
39072080 total allocation units on disk.
39054385 allocation units available on disk.

Any thoughts on how I can convince Acronis / Clone that there's enough space? Or how I can free up the 70,756 and 65,536KB of data?

Any help is appreciated.

Frank,

Are you using ABR10 or TIH 2010/2011 and what build?

Are you cloning from within Windows or from the Rescue CD?

Try resizing the destination drive down by about 5%. I seem to recall someone had a similar problem with TIH recently and adjusting the destination partition size did the trick.
