Console connects only to localhost

Thread needs solution

Hello

I downloaded trial version of the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows and want to try it in LAN. But Acronis Console connects only to localhost, I havent found any ways to connect to other machines in LAN. The picture below shows my Console connected to localhost.

Console connected to localhost

May be localhost-only connection is the restriction of the trial version?

The goal is to manage all backup copies for all LAN desktops/servers from one place (administrators machine). So on this machine I intend to install full Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows, while on other machines - only Agent. Will this approach work?

Thanks, Andrey

It's a restriction of standalone version ("Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows") . Advanced version ("Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server") allows remote connections (agent accepts remote connections, console lets specify a remote server) and will fit your scenario.

thank you very much, dev-anon

one additional question: trial version of the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server is a small 4.7 MB web installer. I am trying to install soft from this file on the virtual machine, but installer says that there is no connection with the server. Is where any way to download full (offline) installer for the Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Advanced Server?

There should be BackupRecoveryAdvanced._s_xx.exe somewhere. It accepts trial keys too, so it's not that web installer is the only possible way to install thetrial version. Until you find it, you can try to run the web installer it where it can connect to the server, download the .msi components you need (agent and console for the beginning) and install from .msi files.
