Is the Dell RD1000 Supported?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm currently in the process of purchasing a new server for our company and as part of the quote from Dell I have been recommended an internal RD1000 (removable hard drive cartridge) drive for backup.

http://www1.euro.dell.com/uk/en/business/Storage/storage-powervault-rd1…

I've heard that Windows doesn't recognise the drive as merely a hard disk but rather more like a CD drive (drive is labelled as 'removable media'). I'd just like to confirm that Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 software supports this drive both in Windows and when using the Recovery Boot disk pre-Windows.

Thanks in advance for any responses.

Hello Keith,

Thank you for finding time to join us, and share your concerns, I will be glad to address your question.

I've checked our internal resources, and must admit we currently do have some compatibility issues with the Dell RD1000. Our development team is working hard on fixing the problem, and we were promised that the situation will get improved in the next update, thought I don't want to set false expectations, and I cannot promise anything.

Unfortunately we do not have any list with the advised hardware (tape drives).

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Hello,

Any news on this subject ? (Compatibility with ABR 11 maybe ?)

Regards,

Stephane.
