I have a customer that wants to do a weekly disk image backup to external hard drive. is there a setting so it will only save the last 3 (or whatever) backups? so the disk doesn't become full and require manually deleting old disk image archives?

and can a single file be restored from a disk image backup or will we also have to do file-based backups?

1) Yes, setting retention rules to delete backups older than 3 weeks. 2), yes, selecting 'files' for 'what to recover' on recover page.
