Domain Admin rights for Acronis services

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

We've been attempting to get ABR 11 (the Advanced version) up and running and are having some significant difficulties. One specific problem is authentication. We have given the services Admin privileges on the machines where the Management Server and Agents are installed, but support insists that they need DOMAIN Admin credentials as well. Since we are a large company with thousands of employees, domain admins subsequently have access to thousands of user accounts but NOT to anythin on our machines. Therefore, giving domain admin access is not possible and makes little sense, since only a few such admins exist and Acronis would have to be making changes in the domain to need that level of privileges.

Is tech support correct? Is domain admin access required?

Thanks!

One of places were domain administrator is mentioned specifically is backup of Active Directory ( i.e. on domain controller) - http://kb.acronis.com/content/27060 point 4. ( because Windows limits access to snapshots containing AD data to domain admins). This is for agent ( MMS service user).
For AMS (Management Server) local admin would be enough.
