Dual Destination Question

Thread needs solution

I was looking at the Dual Destination Option and need some clarrification. If anyone has tried this maybe you can answer....

When I turned on the Dual Destination feature I pointed to the file share on a remote server where the duplicate backup need to be sent to. But when I go into a backup policy I do not see an option to use or not use this feature.

My question is if this is enabled are all backups, regaurdless of policy, sent to the the remote files share?

What I was hoping for was to select the use of the dual destination on a machine by machine or policy by policy basis. That is, certain servers or workstations get saved to the vault AND sent to the remote file share, then the others simply get backed up to whatever vault they normally get saved to.

Any comments or insites?

Thanks

Larry

Hello Larry,

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
The issue you are experiencing is rather strange.  The possibility to add the Dual destination feature to a backup policy should appear at Backup options. You can create a respective backup policy adding Dual destination and apply this policy to the computers you want to backup and sent the archives to the remote file share.
You can also create a backup policy without sending the backups to the network share.
If you are unable to see the appropriate option, could you please illustrate the issue with the screen shots? Please provide us with the step-by-step screen shots of the operation management, we will try to find out what is going wrong.
If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.
- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.
We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
