ESX Applaince Bootloop: etc/lvm/.cache.tmp write error failed: no space left on device

Thread needs solution

Hello together,

i have some strange problems with my ESX Appliance after a few days.

Environment:

2x VMWare Servers
2x ESX Appliances
Acronis 11.5

The problem:
after one or two days the Appliance going in a bootloop and the assigned VMs to ESX Appliance-29 (or a new one) is failed for backup.

Any ideas?

The only workaround is to create a new ESX Appliance all two days, but that couldn't the solution at all :)

Thanks a lot and kind regards!

Dan

Hi Michael

do you have the latest build installed? I see in our internal sources that a similar issue has been caught on the older builds (a virtual appliance got overfilled with logs, which resulted in the above error message), so updating to the newer build version should resolve the issue.

You can also connect to a VA with the WinSCP tool and check the contents of

/var/lib/Acronis/
/usr/lib/Acronis/

to find out which directories are flooded with logs. This will give us a clue.

Thank you,
