Failed to create backup plan

Thread needs solution

I have installed B&R on a Windows 2003 Server and when creating a backup to a remote share, I have the error "Protected Storage.GetBlobItem Failed"

I have setup similar backups to SMB Shares on other servers so I am sure the config is right, has anyone seen this error and had a resolve?

I have exactly the same problem when I try to modify a scheduled job on the ams console.

I have just completed a fresh install of Build 11133 and am getting the same error when I try to revoke or modify a Backup Policy in AMS. I think solving this issue with build 11133 is just a shot in the dark at a moving target.

Maybe it's just me, but it seems like every solution given by Acronis Tech Support is to either uninstall and reinstall or upgrade to the next build. With build 11133, this is my third try at getting our enterprise deployment up and running. Three strikes and you're out. I want a refund. :-(

I'm sure I speak for others in corporate environments when I say...tech support needs to step it up quite a few notches. We all paid good money for the software and the support contracts. We demand better.

Just an FYI to those with this issue that are using AMS...

You can work around it by following these steps:

1) Delete the machines from AMS.
2) Delete the Backup Policy.
3) Re-create the Backup Policy.
4) Add the machines back into AMS.
5) Apply the new policy.
