Failed to determine temporary file name. Error code: 267.

Thread needs solution

I have searched for answers for this, and can only find ones that relate to TI.

I have 2 removable eSATA disks i rotate for my backups. I am running build 11345.

One specific backup task fails on one of the disks. (call this Disk2)
3 servers backup to the disks into different directories. 2 of these complete without errors.

I have tried running chkdsk /f on the disk and the results are the same.

Backups on Disk1 seem to be fine. I have tried deleting all the backup files (differential schedule if that matters) and the issue remains. I havent deleted the meta directory yet.

I thought all the problems relating to swopping disks were fixed in 11345, so can someone please explain what would cause the "Failed to determine temporary file name. Error code: 267." error, and what i should check before doing the old delete everything off the disk and try again" method?

I am happy to report that I no longer get the recreated_archive.tib naming system any more, which is good.

Hello Darryl,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

We have experienced the same issue in Acronis True Image Home and Acronis True Image Echo. It is also rather strange that the task fails on one of your disks only. Nevertheless, please cleanup your Windows temp folders and see if the issue persists. Also please check if there is enough free space on the source hard drive.

If the issue remains, please obtain the log file of the failed operation and attach to your next post.

We are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.

Thank you.

Oleg,
I had no option but to remove the backup files because i needed a viable backup on that disk. Since doing that, my differential is working on one disk but doesnt seem to be getting saved to the other. I'll see if i can work out why and send the logs.

Hello Darryl,

Thank you for your response.

Please keep us informed. We are looking forward to hearing back from you.
