Failure to see *.tib image

Thread needs solution

When I run my Acronis boot CD, it fails to see my external disk with the backed up *tib running Acronis Universal Restore full version. But if I just choose the regular Acronis from the choices on the boot CD, then my external USB disk shows. Anyone know why?

Hello Sun Joh,

Welcome in our forum. I am happy to assist you.

Are you using the latest available bootable media, that you can download from your account?

Let me know if you need additional help please.

Thank you.

I've got a similar problem Acronis 11.5 bootable media does not recognize the * .tib file, I was told that this is because of the missing meta-file.Is it possible to create a meta-file from a tib-file?

Hello Anton,

This is correct: our interface shows archives present in a location by scanning the archive meta-data on this location. A location with tib files but no XML files will be shown as empty in the UI.

You should be able to recreate the meta-data by clicking the "refresh" button after opening a location (this can also be done in the bootable media inside the restore wizard). This refresh operation scans the tib files in a location and compares them to the available meta-data, synchronizing the two.

Thanks for your advice, on my notebook this works fine but when I clicked on the Refresh button on a HP DL380G6 Windows 2003 Server the system crashed.
I'll try this next week again to get more information...
