Idle time before backup on tape
Dear Acronis Community,
I've searched the forum for similar issue but found nothing related.
Briefly described, our backup strategy is to do daily backups to a NAS and replicate them to tapes. The tape library attached to the backup server is a DELL PowerVault TL1000 with only one tape inside.
The issue what we've started to experience lately is that between the backup to the NAS and the replication to the tape there is a time frame (where nothing happens, Acronis just waits). This time at the beginning was not significant, maybe 1-2 minutes, but now this time has drastically increased to 1-2 hours. So, this way a backup which normally was executed in 5 minutes now takes 2 hours. This introduces serious delays for the consecutive backups. The same issue is experienced for every plan which writes on tape.
If you check the screenshot, it is not the writing process to the tape what causes the delay, but the idle time before that.
Can you provide an investigation plan to find out what causes this idle time?
Thank you!
