Licence Server migration

Thread needs solution

Hello,
I would like to know the better way to move ABR Licence Server to another machine, without impact the client.

Regards

Sorry, but I don't understand the process.
First, I exported my licence into a XML file (from the licence server LRAP04)
After i connected to the my AMS server (LRDB01) and change the licence server ( old : LRAP04) by the new (LRDB01)
I imported the file licence into the new server (LRDB01)
I remove the licence into the old server (LRAP04)
I'm waiting ...few minutes
And the new licence server show 0 licence used by client, all licence are free.

When the client will be updated with the new licence server ?

Hello eric fiolet,
by default, agents go to the license server every 24 hours, so you need to wait while they connect and grab their licenses again. If this does not happen, try the sequence described in the doc (export - import - then change the LS on AMS). AMS may check the license presence on the new LS when you select it. There were no licenses on LRDB01 at that moment - so, AMS may not have told the machines to use this LS.

May be it just doesn't work. I checked it in a VM, and (though might be a case complicated by upgrade license and the fact that it's a VM with Afdvanced Server license) found that 1) LS name in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Acronis\Licenses\* did not change 2) licenses reappeared in the 'old' LS ( probably agent brought them back to the server it knows)

In fact, It seem doesn't work correctly. My clients had never receive the new adresse of the licence server.
I have change manually for all clients the server licence name into the Registery key : HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Acronis\MMS\configuration\Licence and
I restart the service AMMS
After the client was correctly with the new server, and the client licences was valid.
