Lots of problems with ABR11 and Vsphere 4.1.0 clients

Having LOTS of problems getting my VM's backup'd on a regular basis. Here are some of the problems I am getting :

- Backup tasks that failed and keep saying intervention is required. I can't get rid of those notifications.
- Using VSS seems to ALWAYS fail.
- Backups tend to fail after 15 seconds, with errors such as There is no metadata for archive X or failed to open archive.

Using build 11.0.17311.

I know the first 2 at least. Those are known bugs that may or may not get fixed in an update or upgrade.

1. is a cosmetic problem - sure it's annoying and there's a few workarounds, but it's not a "data-loss" critical problem so I suggest not touching it. And don't try fancy scripts out of the KB - you'll easily mess up some obscure database and then your tasks will show no activity. ever. even if there's lots of tasks going.

2. Easy workaround: Switch to Acronis VSS provider. It will produce warnings, but warnings are better than failure. Backups should be valid and consistent, but better test them a few times. Recent builds of Acronis try to work around the problem by putting the Acronis Agent User into the "Administrators" local group, but from personal experience, I still got a 50% failure rate. Just switch to "Acronis VSS" and live with the warning.

3. What target are you backing up to? Acronis Agent and NAS accessed via SMB seems to have lots of problems.

Intervention usually correlates with intermittent connection. But have you already figured out what caused this?
