Possible to make an Acronis Host Image from a VMWare image?

Thread needs solution

Hi there,

I'm wondering if it's possible to make an Acronis Host Image from a VMWare image?
If so, is it completely problem-free or has it some constraints?

Thanks a lot for any help!

If vmware image is a .vmdk vmware disk, I'd try the following, assuming that you have installed some vmware product that can run its virtual machines -
1) Create a new virtual machine with disk image as an existing disk,
2 Optionally - add second empty disk.
3 Boot from acronis bootable media into this VM
4 (partition and format disk from step 2 in Disk Director Lite)
5 Backup to the network (skipping steps 2 and 4 then) or to the empty disk added on step 2.

The second disk then can be mounted in the host system to copy the .tib file from it.
