Really big backup image even when not much data

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis Backup and Recovery installed on HP 5310m laptop. I have Windows 7 and Office on it and pretty much nothing else. When looking on Windows I can see I have used only 23GB of the hard drive.

When I take backup from it, the backup process takes about six hours. And on screen I can see bytes backup up 193,5GB, Bytes Transmitteed 42,95GB etc...

How come backup image file is even bigger than data amount on my harddrive? When I took backup from my old laptop HP 6930p, Full backup took about 40mins. With the new laptop it takes six hours???

Hello matarvai!

Thank you for finding time to report about the issue, I will definitely help you with it.

Unfortunately there is still some lack of investigation information, so could you please kindly provide us with the following:

  1. The screenshot of the backup settings
  2. - Download AcronisInfo
    - Run the downloaded file.

The gathered information will be put in AcronisInfo.zip in the same folder, where the AcronisInfo was saved.

This information will allow us to take a closer look at the Acronis product state and logs.

  3. Could you please download Acronis Report utility and run it, create a report and send it to us? Please compress the Acronis Report output file into an archive (e.g. with WinZip) and attach to your message by browsing for the archive.
This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.

After that please kindly contact us with the information gathered, we will review it and provide you with a solution.

Thank you!
