Recovery after changing keyboard and Mouse

Thread needs solution

True image home 2009 is installed on a windows xp pc. The image of drive C was created some time before the keyboard and mouse was replaced by another set. Now, I am not able to restore a directory with the new keyboard and mouse. True Image tells me that it will take into account the new set. But really it does not. For example, the image is not mounted, too.
Is there a way out of this problem? Please, take into account that I am not an expert in this field.
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Uwe
