Recovery always fails

Hy everyone,

I sold a new HP ML330 G6 Server to one of my customers to be prepared when a desaster will occure. This is a cold standby server. I tryed some test recoveryes by now, but every task fails with the Error "Index ist beschädigt" - "Index is demaged".

The Errorcodes are: 0x00da0002+0x00101f6+0x0070025

Situation: I back up a Windows 2003 SBS using Acronis 10 to 5 different 500 GB SATA HDD's which are connected with a SATA to USB converter. For every workday 1 seperate disc. The backups are OK.

I start the recovery unsing a acronis bootable media on the cold standby server. The Build number is 10.0.11639. Universal restore is on. I used different disks. I connected the disk with the USB converter or direct to an SATA port.

Thank you for posting and welcome to the forum. I will help you with resolving this issue.

The error message that you are getting most likely indicates a corrupt backup. We need to perform a few steps to localize this problem.

1. Please send me a private message with this report so that I can check if there are any errors on the hard drive.

2. Have you performed validation of your backups?

3. Can you place the backup to a different location and try the recovery one more time, does the same issue occur?

4. To eliminate the possibility of a bootable media issue, I will follow-up with a private message and provide you with the latest build which is 12497 at the moment.

5. As a workaround, you can always perform a sector-by-sector recovery, sometimes this works.
