Recovery file corrupt

Thread needs solution

I am using TI 11 build 8,101 on a Windows 7 PC

I have used the TI software for many years diligently creating regular backups of mainly my 'C' partition (windows) and I have used the recovery software to restore the 'C' partition maybe once or twice without problems. N.B after creating an image backup I ALWAYS validate the image.

Today after suffering corruption of important programs I attempted to restore a partition image of 'C'

N:B Backup was saved to an external USB disc drive.

PC was OK and I ran the Acronis software from Windows and it started to recovery the partition. It was reporting 1 day 12 hours remaining but I assuming this was a slightly spurious figure ?

After the recovery backup had been running for a approx 3 hours (now reporting something like 23 hours remaining) it failed ! giving me a message reporting the recovery image was corrupt. (remember I had validated the image)

Result Windows will not boot.

I now start TI from the Acronis Boot recovery CD I had initially created. I intended to attempt to restore an earlier 'C' image (I always have two)

Now I halt the recovery because I do not understand what the partition info Acronis is reporting.

It is reporting "System Reserved (C) Pri,Act Total 100Mb Free Space 69.65 Mb NTFS
(D) Pri 458.9 GB " " 89.87 GB NTFS
Unallocated 458.9 GB Unallocated

What does this mean ?

Now I believe my 'C' partition was 458 GB and the Disk Image is 92.75 GB

Has the failed recovery caused the 458 GB of Unallocated Space ?

Where do I load the recovery partition ?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks
