[RESOLVED] How to Image Windows 7 Configured in a Raid 1

Thread needs solution

I have Windows 7 64-bit loaded in a Raid 1 Configuration.

First issue, when I boot from the acronis boot media, Acronis two disk. It should only see one disk/volume.

I have tried "eight times" to create WinPE boot media with Acronis. I create the WinPE boot media, add my raid controller drivers and then the Cd/DVD is successfully created. However, when I use the WinPE boot media to boot my machine, I get an error...

WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT
BE THE CAUSE

File:\Windows\System32\DRIVERS\iaStora.sys

Status: 0xc000035a

So, with all of that being said, my task here seems to be a very simple one. I need to image a windows 7 system that is setup in a Raid 1. How can I get this done using Acronis. Heck, can Acronis even accomplish this. So far tech support keeps giving the same information and it DOES NOT WORK.

Find the solution here.

I successfully solved my Imaging Windows 7 64-bit in a Raid 1 configuration problem.

Let's go over my initial problem:

Task: Make an an of Windows 7 64-bit in a Raid 1 configuration

Problem: When using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 boot media, the software sees two drives "it should only seen one drive".

Solution: Create an Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 Windows PE bootable media with the "32-bit Raid Controller Drivers"

DO NOT USE YOUR RAID CONTROLLER'S WINDOWS 64-BIT DRIVERS, THE WINDOWS PE ENVIRONMENT CANNOT/WILL NOT RECOGNIZE THE DRIVERS

1. Click Tools
2. Create bootable media - click Next
3. Licenses to use "It will detect your license" - Click Next
4. Bootable Media Type - Click Drop Down and Select - Windows PE
5. Select Create Windows PE 2.x or 3.0 automatically - Click Next
6. Network Settings "Your choice here, it's self explanatory" I disabled this option - Click Next
7. Drivers - Click Add and browse to the location of your Raid Controller's 32-bit Drivers, 32-bit, 32-bit....NOT 64
Also, if you want to read another raid configuration you have connected to your system, load those 32-bit Drives also
8. Click Next
9. Determine what kind of media you want to create - I used CD-RW, click next and your media will be created. It takes about 10 - 15 minutes.

Place the boot media in your system and it will initially appear to boot into windows 7, then it will proceed to Acronis.
