[RESOLVED] No drives detected in ABR11AW to make a backup
Hello,
I've been using ABR11AW build 17318 for some time with little issues. I decided to update to a newer build and ended up having to go back to 17318. Now when I create a backup plan in Windows, the internal and USB external drives are no longer detected in "items to backup". If I change to backup "Files", I can see the drives. If I leave the default or select "Disks/Volumes", all drives disappear. This had been working prior and I also tried a software repair which did not fix the issue. Not sure what to do now or if I need to install the latest SnapAPI drivers to recover. Any suggestions?

Hello JBswift,
thank you for posting the question and describing the way you managed to resolve the issue. I would like to explain the cause of the issue and the easiest way to resolve it.
The described behavior happens in Acronis Backup and Recovery 11, when the Agent for Windows is not installed in addition to the Agent Core. This issue as well as the solution are described in this KB article. So you just have to install the Agent for Windows in order to backup the disks and volumes.
In latest versions of the software, if this situation occurs, upon connecting the Management Console to the Agent you get informed that the Agent for Windows is not installed.
If you will have any addition questions to this topic, please let me know.
Thank you.
