restoring single partitions not intuitive

Hello,
with the "old" TrueImage I was very easy to restore single partitons (from a fulldisk image), but with the
current release of Backup & Recovery the intuitive way to do that task, is gone.
I have to admit that I am not even able to restore single partitions :-(
Question:
What is the purpose of that new approach (e.g. changing partitionsize when restoring or such a thing)?
