Slow NAS performance on AB&R 11

Thread needs solution

Hello there, I need some help on getting version 11 to work faster with the NAS, all equipment is gigabit connected, we are using Acronis Backup and Restore 11 Windows Server.
The NAS is a Lacie Big 5 Windows Server. I read the following deduplication KB but cannot find the setting on AB&R 11

10800: Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Deduplication Best Practices

Can someone point me to the right place, I can understand why acronis is working on 22mbs if it is trying to deduplicate on the NAS which is not really powerful enough to handle all the I/O's and is only acting as an storage device. Thank you.

Hello,

I figured that the Storage Node is incredibly slow when running via SMB (windows networking) as backing.

I solved this problem for now by dedicating a volume on our NAS and exporting it via ISCSI - connected that on the storage node and backups are running fine now (and can saturate the connection to the NAS).

When using SMB, the storage node is only able to deliver 1MB/s (raw data).

The same physical connection, but using ISCSI (with the same dataset) is able to deliver 22MB/s peak.

EDIT: This would be much less of a problem if there existed a linux-based storage node. I hope that something like this will appear eventually.
