Have not been able to backup my files for a week. This also happens when I do a full backup.

Keep getting the following error:

Sorry, further to this, I am using:

Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 Agent (build 10.0.11345)

Hello Alan Grannum,

Thank you for posting here. I will definitely help you with this issue.

There are several reasons why the partition backup fails. Our software most likely has issue connecting to your backup location. Where do you save your backups?

To troubleshoot this issue further, can you please try creating a new folder in the same backup location and try to save the backup there.

After that, please try saving the backup to a different location and let me know how that goes as well.

Did you delete any vaults or backup files manually?

Also, can you please check that you specify the correct credentials for the backup location. You can check for additional details in this KB article: Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Specifying Task Credentials.

If you are performing a files/folders backup and you get this error message, then it is caused by a deleted folder that was scheduled to be backed up. We have an article in our Knowledge Base that talks about this problem: Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: File Backup Fails with "The specified file does not exist" if the Source Folder Is Deleted.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.

Thanks for the reply and I will try to answer to your last post.
The backups are saved to a dell RD1000 external hard drive. We are using 80GB tapes for the incremental and 160GB for full backups.
We also backup a copy to a MyBook 1TB external drive. Neither are presently working - cannot find file/file does not exist/cannot find path specified. None of the settings have been changed after 20th March when everything was working fine.
When doing a backup, I have to manually delete the tape prior to the run as the delete on the backup does not work. At one point this did not work and I re-formatted the disk and it worked well after that (prior to 20 March).
The validation also seems to have an issue. I am presently working on deleting teh backup plans and setting up new ones to see if this will correct the issue.
I am logged in as administrator and have setup all plans as admin.

Appreciate all your assistance.

Alan

Sorry - one other thing. The incremental backup runs as a full backup and I am about to run out of space on the tape to accomodate this. Any suggestions on how to get the incremental to do that, an incremental backup only?

Alan

Hello Alan Grannum,

Thank you very much for getting back to me.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience but at the moment it is not very clear why this issue is occurring.

I would like to suggest the following article - Acronis Backup & Recovery 10: Troubleshooting Issues with Tape Devices and go through the solution part of the article. If the solution does not resolve the issue, please submit a support request with the logs that are mentioned in the article.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
