System Startup Question - True Image Home 2009

Thread needs solution

I installed Acronis on a Client's (customer's)computer (they purchased it). They called to ask if Acronis is going to pause the startup process every time she re-boots. She doesn't want to have to select anything during the boot process, she just wants the system to boot into XP. Prior to Acronis, she typically started her computer (laptop), walked away to do other things, then came back to a fully booted system. Having to make a selection during boot is forcing her to change her routine. Can this be either disabled, or made to allow a choice to boot to XP automatically unless there is user intervention. I have to apologize, she told me this over the phone, so I can only assume this is exactly what is happening. It's possible that the system is pausing a few seconds and then booting to XP as the default. If the latter is true, then the problem is already solved.

Thanks - Paul

The only pause should be a few seconds if the ASRM is activated (shows the F11 prompt). If T&D is being used, there will be a menu on boot-up to select what you want to do with the last session.

It would help to know the exact selection needing to be made.

I'll find out what the exact selection request is.
Mind telling me what the accronymns stand for?
Sorry, I am a Acronis user, but I set it and forget it.

Reply from my client:
Hi Paul. It says Acronis true image home(full version) , Acronis true image home (safe version) and an options for Windows.

To confirm what I thought she was saying, I wrote:
So, it gives you 3 options?
1. Acronis Full
2. Acronis Safe
3. Windows
Is that right?

She wrote back - YES
I am waiting for a reply to my last question to her: "Does it automatically select Windows after a delay"?

Is the TI CD still in the CD/DVD drive? It sounds like it's booting the CD. The Safe Mode version is not an option with the ASRM.

That's funny, I'm sure it it!!!

Thanks

Paul - PS I'm the same Paul that wrote you about the Drive Notify.....

And if anyone else needs to use more than one backup device, or sometimes the backup device is not attached - check out the Drive Notify link above!!!
