Task 'Full backup' requires your interaction

Thread needs solution

We have bought Acronis Server 10 for many of the Servers that we manage. We also have an external drive connected through usb that is the same size of the C: drive we are backing up or twice as large.

We would like Acronis to do full backups on Saturdays and Incremental backups during the week. Please inform us on the proper way to have Acronis delete old backups so running out of space is not an issue. We have called support and tried different things but it never works out.

Example A:
Backup C: Drive to D:

Run full backup on Saturday and Incremental backups during the week; allow Acronis to properly remove old backups

C: 400GB
D: 1TB

How would like task look?

Thanks for your time

The safe approach is to have at least one full backup. Did you try custom scheme with full and incremental backup, and retention rules set to 'delete older that 1 day' with 'retain until all dependent backups become subject to deletion' ?
If you can accept the risk of no backups left, there is a cleanup option set to 'when there is insufficient space'.
Another 'not so safe' approach is to set ' simplified naming' ( http://kb.acronis.com/content/14850 ) and incremental scheme to run every day. On saturday, before the full backup, schedule (using windows scheduler) the deletion of the whole chain and it will start the new one with a full backup.
Were these one of what you tried and that didn't work?

We have definitely tried the insufficient space and that seems to not work ever.
