Is there a Acronis version of ghost walker?

If you back up a computer to a file via acronis home or corporate, is there a utility to inspect and or access the files contained with in the back up image.

This will mean we do not have to restore the whole image just to access a few files froma back up.

I'm glad to inform you that this functionality is implemented into the product itself. You do not need to restore the entire archive to access particular files in it as well as there's no need in additional tools. After creation of the backup you can mount the image, and it will be accessible as a physical drive. You can also explore the image: move it to the machine where Acronis software is installed, double click and feel free to copy any files you need.

I would advise you to take a look at chapter 6.5 in the User's Guide for more details.
