Validation Job cannot be stoped

Thread needs solution

Hello to all,

I have an HyperV Server 2008 R2 and B and R Vitual Edition11 on it.

I have created some Backup Jobs with validation. Now I have some backups finished, mostly with error.
After investigation into that I have found two validation Jobs which can not get stopped.

I have restartet the server hinself and also tried to stop all services manually, nothing had worked.
Attached you can find a doc with pic which shows the actual status, this havend changes sense days.

I hope somebody can help out.

Hello Michael,

Thank you for bringing this issue up, I'll help you with it.

Looks like validation process got interrupted, but the process was never removed from the Management server list. Please follow the instructions from this article, it should fix the stalled tasks.

It would also be nice to receive Acronis Info output from the host machine, as if validation process didn't end due to some reason, we'd better find and fix it.

ich have executed the skipt to remove the open jobs.
But now I can not browse something, no jobs, no Sstorage or something is just sais "Verarbeitung, please wait, and stays there.
Everything start on the issue I have postet regarding Acronis tries to finish a Backup until the server get reebootet, but it never stops this taks. I had a client where the job was running for 22 days and we had to swich the maschine off and on again.

Now it looks like my server has been done the same. Now Acronis is not longer working. I have atached a screenshot of the dashboard, even that can not collect data, like everything else.

Hopefully there will be a work round to Stop Acronis competly before a server gets reebootet.

Thanks for keeping us posted.

Unfortunately without the logs I've requested we cannot localize the cause of the issue. At the moment I can advise you to turn off Acronis services, it might temporary help. But we'll still need Acronis Info output from the host machine in order to find out what's wrong. Could you please send it to us?

Hello Yana,

Yesterday I tried to get the Logs, but on the creatting of that, the tool looks like hanging. So Istartet the Installation again on Repair modus. That one did repair the first three components, but was stocking on the Storage Node repair until this morning, the Server himself is working fine.

I have attached a screenshot of the process windows on both.

Update on getting the logs.

until now the Acronis Info has been finished, and I have a file with 2356 MB
I guess that is nothing which can be uploaded to the forum.

Please advice!
