Validation runs on whole archive and can't be stopped

Thread needs solution

I have contacted tech support about this and they were unable to resolve the issue. Perhaps and hopefully the community knows more.

I have setup a backup that is running to an external HD via USB2. The backups (Full and Incremental) will run and stop just fine. Both take about a minute to stop however which is fine. Validation is set at [What to validate: After: Full, Incremental, Differential, Cleanup; What to validate: The latest backup].

The full backup is running at about 700gb. With incrementals running every 3 hours and could be between 3mb to 4gb. This is all fine an good however when the validation runs after an incremental regardless of size it runs through the whole 700gb of data and takes about two hours. Once any validation starts stopping it doesn't work it just says stopping and finishes out completely as if it were never asked to stop.

It is to my understanding that the validation should just validate the last incremental as it is set above. So if the incremental is 3gb validation might take a few minutes. At the rate of running an incremental ever 3 hours acronis when validating the entire archive will do practically nothing but backup and validate constantly which is very taxing on my system and trying to work at the same time effectively defeating the purpose. It would be more efficient for me to just always save two copies of work (high end photoshop compositing work)

All help is much appreciated! Thanks in advance.
