Windows loses activation during backup?

Thread needs solution

Acronis Backup & Recovery works fine with my laptop, but the desktop machine courses some strange problems. When the backup starts, it loses the activation status for both WIndows 7 (Ultimate 64-bit) and Outlook 2010 (also 64bit). When the backup is ready everything returns to normal. I can not understand why this happens.

I tested also the new True Image 2011 and it did the same thing, only it was worse when I selected the continuous backup. My Windows was not genuine all the time!

I think something changed with acronis products as this used to be OK before I updated the products.

Hello Kimmo,

Thank you for your post. I will do my best to help you.

We have not had such reports but it is possible this issue is caused by our low-level drivers. During a backup, when they are used it's possible that they are blocking a registry entry which has information about your Windows and Outlook activation.

I would appreciate if you could contact our Support team with this report so that we can properly investigate this issue. In a few minutes I will send you a private message with a unique link so that you could collect a SnapApi log as well.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
