Backup mounted external disks to vm

Thread needs solution

Hi Forum,

I wonder how vmprotect behaves if a virtual machine that shall be backed up has iSCSI drives mounted locally.

Will these drives be part of a backup job or will they be ignored?

Regards,
AllexD

Hi AlexD,

These iSCSI drives are not included into the snapshot created by VMware since the hypervisor is unaware of them, so (since vmProtect is using VMware snapshots through vStorage API) these drives will not be backed up, i.e. will be skipped.

Thank you.
