ESX Server with small Bandwith VSphere

Thread needs solution

Hello,

we have many ESX servers with small Bandwith in one VCenter Management.
Each ESX has his own Backup (fast) store fore the Backup Data.

Do i need one VMProtect aplience for each ESX Server, ore how is the best Practice for such an Installation?

Is there a Central Managemt for such a Network?
For my understanding the VMProtect is for ESX Cluster/VSphere installations with fast Backbones an Central Storage is this right?

Thanks for Help

Hi Tobias,

Assuming that your ESX servers are not in VMware cluster it makes sense to deploy an appliance to each of them and set up the tasks on these appliances individually. While there is no centralized management yet, there will be centralized monitoring of multiple agents (new feature called Centralized Dashboard) in the 9th version of Acronis vmProtect which is finishing the Beta stage currently (the release will be really soon). Acronis vmProtect 9 from what I can see may fit your environment pretty well (there are no special requirements for connection to vCenter or having some central storage).

Thank you.

Thanks. Is there also a guide somewhere online where it includes the step by step process?

Hi gavin d,

Can you please clarify what exact result you want to achieve? The environment and suggested approach described in this thread are pretty general, i.e. it's not something that can be used anywhere. It's just one of possible usage scenarios.

Thank you.
