Reconstructing a TIBX file from 3 LTO5 Tapes

Thread needs solution

Hello guys,

During last year we did a backup of several directories into three LTO5 tapes.

When we tried to restore this backup one of the tapes gave an issue when trying to be added to the inventory, it seem like acronis had issues reading, scanning the tape, i have managed to read the raw content of the three tapes using linux, indeed of the tapes had issues and we had to retry several times to read the data.

Is there a chance to reconstruct the raw data into a TIBX file or a file that acronis could read and restore?

I appreciate all the help.

Hello Rafael,

welcome to Acronis forums!

When we tried to restore this backup one of the tapes gave an issue when trying to be added to the inventory, it seem like acronis had issues reading, scanning the tape

If those tapes are still safe, I recommend that you contact Acronis Support Team who can try to restore the data from tapes. Support Engineers will need the exact error messages you receive, how tapes are recognized/detected in Acronis Management Console UI and Acronis System Information collected from the machine with Storage Node or the Agent where tapes are attached.

Is there a chance to reconstruct the raw data into a TIBX file or a file that acronis could read and restore?

No, this is impossible.
