Bootable Media Builder - USB drive not listed if making WinRE bootable media, fine if choosing Linux
Acronis Cyber Protect 15 build 29486. If I choose creation of Linux-based boot media, by the time I get to the "Select the media output" screen the USB drive I have connected is shown in the list and can be written successfully.
If I choose WinPE, and select the recommended "WinRE" option, by the time I get to the "Select the media output" screen it shows everything EXCEPT the USB drive I have connected. I can create an .ISO image successfully, but it will not write a bootable USB drive.
I have tried Windows 11 21H2 x64, Windows 10 21H2 x64, and Windows 10 21H1 x86 but all of them have the same result. Able to build an .ISO, but won't list the USB drive as a selectable target for "Select the media output".
Even though the .ISO written for the WinRE option is only 811MB, I thought maybe it just doesn't think an 8GB USB drive is large enough. But trying a 16GB or 32GB USB drive instead still results in the same behavior. I've also tried formatted as FAT32 (as the Linux option requires) and also formatted as NTFS, but the device isn't listed either way.
It seems like I've used Bootable Media Builder to write the WinRE boot media directly to a USB before? Or has this always been a fundamental limitation. Any specific requirements for the USB drive which I'm not seeing described?
