Cyber Protect 15 - Failed job handling

Thread needs solution

Hello,
we got one Tandberg QuikStation which randomly drops the iSCSI connection to the agent server for a few seconds, causing the replication job to cancel out due to external alterations of the target file.

In 12.5 this also meant the target file was gone.

In 15 it seems the target file remains where it is and if I manually repeat the replication task Acronis seems to validate the file and pick up around the failed position.

Unfortunately handling this error seems not to be part of the task failure handling within the job.

So I look for a method to get this failed status looked up and have the failed job repeated automatically. (Maybe running a script from the Pre-post commands section of the task?) Or even better only repeat the failed section of the job, if it consists of multiple items. (Backup Exec introduced such feature a while ago even if it was less useful than expected.)

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

Please try connecting your NAS via SMB instead iSCSI.In this case the software will reattempt replication job.

The Tandberg QuikStation does not offer SMB for accessing the RDX disks in it.

What about the other part of the question - querying the status of a job and act if the result is "failed"?

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf.

We have a feature request for mini-plans options improvements i.e. error handling (ABR-122805). I've added your vote to prioritize its development.
