Bug: Replication jobs are no longer running by schedule

Thread needs solution

Hello,

for 3 of 5 Acronis Cyber Backup installations in various locations (all on the Update 1 build) I face the situation that scheduled replication jobs are no longer executed, like described for 12.5 in KB article Acronis Cyber Backup 12.5: Replication plan does not run on schedule | Knowledge Base. Backups are running according to their schedule, just the separately scheduled replication of those backups to external disks simply does nothing. Nothing in the activity log at all. Running the jobs manually is ok, but hardly to perform during late night hours.

In the beginning (still with version 12.5) it was enough, to try one of the following methods (some worked sometimes, some not):

Change the scheduled start time.
Export the plan, delete it, reimport it.
Recreate it from the scratch.

Now even a plan does not run in one of those locations.

Is there anything I can do (i.e. reset the Scheduler database) or does someone have an idea how to solve the issue?

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf,

thank you for posting on Acronis forums!

There could various causes of this issue. The replication plan is not correctly deployed on replication Agents -> redeploy the plan, recreate the plan.

If these tasks could be launched manually, the issue could be in scheduler. You can check if all the tasks are scheduled with Acronis Scheduler Manager .

Please also note that if you ran this task manually and it successfully executed - it will not be later executed at a scheduled time since nothing would be to replicate. Thus, if you re-created this task please leave it and allow it to run as scheduled.

At any case, we recommend that you open a case with Acronis Support Team so that our engineers could sort the situation out.

Hello Maria,

we are not talking about some gaming systems, but about production systems, which are important for our customers. Backup tasks should simply run and not require additional daily costs in time and money for babysitting and troubleshooting.

Well, the scheduled replication is always after a new backup task has been executed. So this argument about would not be executed because nothing would be to replicate does not fit here. And even in this case I expect a notification in the activity log (as I get, if I rerun a replication task manually) and not simply silence.

The behavior is now business critical, since it happens from a perfectly fine working day to the next one - and I cannot sit entire nights or weekends and check, if replication started at customers and if not run them manually.

How would I find the proper ID for the scheduled replication? It's not, that I can find an ID in the list in one of the exported (fine working) backup tasks. It definitively does not help, that there are only IDs in the list and not the task name and type:

I have 5 backup tasks and 3 replication tasks on that machine - so assuming the script lines are the backup tasks.Where are the replication tasks?

Fresh created or recreated plans are not a solution as well - they may run or may not or run one time and not again. Since Update 1 the chance for the later experience is much higher and once it hit a customer the chance for a reliable solution goes against 0.

So no, your answer does not help at all.

Meanwhile I got only one customer remaining, whose system has no problems with the schedules at all (direct update from 12.5 to Update 1, and a second one, who had a fresh install of an earlier version of 15 and does not use replication tasks).

Best greetings from Germany
Olaf

Hello Olaf,

have you already opened a support ticket for this issue? If not, we'd strongly recommend doing so, because the issue needs to be investigated with the help of our engineers and RnD, which is not possible on forum. Please let me know, if any assistance with opening a support ticket is needed.
